Homeless

One of my students wrote this poem last summer.  I think it is a good poem. The images are seen in the words.

Homeless

I saw him under a bridge

Holding his stomach

Dressed in a hot, holey sweater

Trying to get comfortable

On hard pointy rocks

Anxious for sleep

Talking to himself

Wishing he had a family

Shivering when winter comes around

Blowing in his hands, rubbing them together

Trying to stay warm

Being very lonely day by day

With nothing to turn to -

No where to go.
